Yes, poop does happen with a cat. And what really drives me crazy is where do you put the thing the cat poops in when: your house is small and you have a dog that likes to eat cat poop? Well, the ModKat certainly solved those two problems. We purchased the classic black and it looks great in our bathroom with no more ugly kitty litter box to stare at. The ModKat is a work of art, in my opinion. It also solves the issue of kitty litter tracked all over our floors, which has been cut back by 95%.

Now my cat didn't take to the ModKat right away. So what I did was:
Day 1-3 I took the lid completely off and gently placed him inside the ModKat to do his business.

Day 4-7 Put the lid on but put it up and while he was using it, gently closed the lid to get him used to getting out of it.

Day 7-11 Walked over to the ModKat with him and put in on top of the lid until he got used to climbing in to do his business.

This did the trick and now he uses it no problem!
I feel I should be a spokesperson for the ModKat I love it so much. My only one critique is the ModKat is pricey and I wish there was a sale every now and again on them but oh well! Still well worth the price.

I wanted this litterbox from the minute I laid eyes on it. My small 700 sq ft apartment is mid-century modern so the design is perfect, and I couldn't wait to alleviate my constant cleaning of scattered litter. However, I was concerned. I have a very large savannah cat (half African serval) and a rescue pound kitty (his buddy) who are both quite picky about their bathroom habits. At first they wouldn't go near the box. So, I decided to leave it out for one day with the lid off and their previously used litter in it. My husband and I kept checking all day but there was no use, then to our surprise we woke the next morning to a used ModKat! After that, I put the lid on as instructed, and have never had a problem again. In fact, I can't wait to order a second box so that my fur babies each have their own. Thanks for a wonderful design! We are fans for life!

As soon as it arrived, we knew we in for a treat. Finally we have our own place to pee & poop in style - not out in the open but in private, in our stylish, sleek ModKat. Mom can 't get over how beautiful and functional it is: it complements any decor (her bathroom is a shrine to Josephine Baker) and the whole process is streamlined. Mom feels like a Queen and we feel like little Kings. And, best of all, our Jack (Russell Terrier), Luca, won't have Litter Lips, and Mom won't have Poop on her pillow. We love you ModKat!

I love, love, love my Modcat litter box, and my cat Mandy loves the Modcat too! I have had it for over a year and it is fantastic and looks great, and It solves the issues of litter all over the floor from overzealous digging (which was a huge pet peeve for me.) Fabulous product!

We've had the ModKat litter box for about 1.5 years now and couldn't be happier. We live in a small house with 3 cats and a dog and it was very difficult to find a place to put the cat box where #1 it wouldn't be seen and #2 where we wouldn't be stepping on all the litter the cats track out. ModKat certainly fixed all our problems. It's decent enough looking that I don't have to worry about how unsightly it is- most people don't even know what it is- and we no longer have cat litter all over the floor after every use! After a year and a half I have probably saved hours from no longer having to sweep up cat litter five times a day! It's also great because our dog can't go and pull out any yucky "treats"!

I have had two cats for 5 years in various apartments, and living with a litter box in a small space is unsightly and unpleasant. I tried many unsatisfactory and messy setups.

ENTER MODKAT. It saved the day! I was hiding the old litter box in the unused shower of the second bathroom, but no more! This box obviously looks great, and the cats had no problem adjusting to it. It was plenty big enough for my 10 lb and 12 lb kitties. I love that the scoop hooks on the side of the box, but by far my favorite feature is the tarp liner! I never used liners because my cats tore right through them, and all that plastic is just goes in a landfill. This is so easy to carry down to the trash (no more wasteful trash bags!) and easy to clean.

The great design and usefulness of this product is totally worth the money, and I will have it for years to come. THANK YOU!
